amazon delivery driver job review

I Used To Enjoy Being An Amazon Delivery Driver, But Ever Since The Company Installed Cameras In Our Vans, It Feels Like We’Re Always Being Watched.

Amazon says the AI-powered, 270-degree cameras are motion activated and not recording all the time.

They will be able to tell the driver what he is doing. It doesn’t matter if the driver is changing the radio station, or drinking water. I still get a notification of a distracted driver. Sometimes, it’s possible to get a ding when I turn my back from the van.

It’s becoming very annoying. Each notification about a distracted driver results in me being docked points. These management reviews can be used to review my safety score and allow me to fire myself or reduce my hours. Amazon claims the camera helps us to stay safe, but it seems like it is invading our privacy.

Most of the drivers in my DSP feel just as frustrated. Amazon has also changed its routing algorithm and marks multiple deliveries in one area as a single stop, even though the houses and apartments are spread out and are often on the other side of the block. It is these changes that make our jobs more difficult.

Although I thought I’d be able to drive freely as a delivery driver I found it too difficult to park my car and take in the fresh air.
